Street Art Works Mentorship Society

The mandate of Street Art Works Mentorship Society is to provide support and meaningful activities for street-involved youth through a variety of therapeutic mediums, including art therapy and job-skill mentoring.

The goal and uniqueness of the society is drawn from the underlying philosophy that through the facilitation of a therapeutic approach within an artistic medium, programs can be created that will serve youth including life-skill development and job support projects; it is even possible for program participants in one of the programs to develop a sustainable small business.

The society creates sustainability of the work it develops and implements through key linkages with other community partners; both governmental and private.

The society has been involved in community-based programs for youth in the human service sector including such recognized work as:

  • mural projects,
  • urban gardening,
  • and mentorship programs through local community centers.

Street Art Works Mentorship Society also offers organizational personnel development and parent education seminars.
